Have you ever been too scared to move in your faith?
Is there something you enjoy doing that you are fairly good at, but when you are in front of others, are unable to reveal that excellence due to fear? Or are you good at something, but will not take a leap of faith when given a more challenging opportunity in that particular field, because you are not fully educated on its process or procedures? Whatever comes to mind when you think of fear; have you stopped to think about what it is that is keeping you from not moving forward with everything you have got? Is God not bigger than what we fear?
As much as I love the Lord and live for him, there are times I forget that He is bigger. I say He is bigger, but do I truly believe it?
Proverbs 3: 5-6 states: “Trust in the LORD with all your heart, and lean not on your own understanding; in all your ways acknowledge Him, and he shall direct your paths.”
There are times when I become fearful of doing things that I love doing; such as leading worship. Prior to leading, I always align myself to the Father because I do not want to be a performer; but a worshipper. Leaders will lead you to the Father and although performers will put on a great show, that is most of what it is. If I worshiped in fear, the gift that God has given me is not being used to it’s maximum potential to influence and encourage those around me, that they too can be doing what I have trusted the Lord to do. When I stop trying to control everything and walk in obedience; then I will be living out my faith.
Deuteronomy 5:33 states: “You shall walk in all the ways which the LORD your God has commanded you, that you may live and that it may be well with you, and that you may prolong your days in the land which you shall possess.”
Do not allow fear to prevent you from living out your faith. Trust and obediently walk with the Lord; for he is bigger than our fears.
